HomeWork #2

Answer the following questions (1-5) in a blog entry. Create 5 additional questions (6-10) that will guide your investigation. Consider what you need to do and what you need to know to tackle the design challenge. You must post all 10 questions with answers. Answers must be written in full and complete sentences. Remember to spell check.

1.              What is the task?
The task in this project is to choose either a singer/rapper,actress/actor , famous person/someone you know or maybe even yourself and create a CD cover. On the CD cover we have to include the following:
  • Bio of the person
  • pictures
  • why it targets the audiences?
  • add specific examples on what the audience who enjoys this type of music like
  • paper in CD cover which include the bio and etc
The first step in creating this CD cover is to first research before you even start the design. Researching helps the biography that you have to write in the cover. After that, you then start to evaluate , which means to determine what specifically has to be done in order for the project to be done correctly. Then, the designs should be done afterwards.

2.              What is the problem? How can we create a… that will… ?
3.              Are we offering a product, a solution, or both?
We are offering as the consumers a product. Why? because offering a solution will therefore mean that we are giving you something to solve a problem, a CD cover doesn't really solve a problem. So, as a product we are providing are audience with what they enjoy listening too, reading, what they like and try to grab ones attention.

4.              How will we attract our target audience?
Choosing a specific person may attract our target audience. For instance, such as for example Jennifer Lopez. Some people may enjoy listening to her music and like her in general so therefore that attracts the targets attention into viewing the CD cover you've created. Designs as well may attract attentions and specific facts you have added into the bio and as well as pictures, colors and drawings.

5.              What does our target audience want to see?
Our target audience wants to see of course pictures. Having a plain CD cover with no pictures nor colors becomes boring. Target audience also want to see the facts. Facts indeed help others to know more about a specific person. Its sort of like learning the lyrics to their songs, knowing who they are makes everything more clearer to others.

6. How is the CD changing the artist as who they really are?
When creating this cover we have to choose the person first. Who ever we choose we have to create a design representing the opposite of what they really do. For example, Rhianna she originally sings hip hop/r&b, since we are doing the opposite we therefore say that she will sing rock and roll. Or Nicki Minaj who raps we have to say she will sing country as the opposite.

7 Will the CD change ones appearance about the other?
Creating a CD in my opinion wouldn't necessarily change how one thinks. Why? because as a project we are creating the opposite so we aren't really saying what they originally sing. Does this mean that the project is totally the opposite of who we are doing? Not exactly, we are just choosing different genre of music.

8.What are some important facts that need to be added in the bio?
In the bio the persons real name needs to be added because some artists use different names like eminem for instance Rhianna, lady gaga, Nicki minaj etc. The artists childhood (includes birthday, place born, year). How they started their career as a singer, and other important information.
9. How can someone recreate the cover by using the facts?
By using the facts as reference the artist can use specific designs that relate to the person. If someone was to choose a sports player, they can do the letters as the object. Like basketball one of the letters can be the ball or hoop, tennis the letters can be written like the tennis ball or racket , things like that. They can also add specific quotes or sayings, or colors that relate to the person.

10. Why does the consumer have to know what the audience likes before making or creating designs and the actual product?

Knowing what the person likes helps you know how to make the product specifically for the audience. If you choose to make a healthy meal or restaurant as a company you can say that the audience likes to keep in shape, stay fit, exercises and eat healthy just by seeing as the consumer how the people react to the product.

  1. Excellent questions and a good analysis on how a creator must consider the expectations or interests of the target audience.
